We got Nukes..we got Missiles...We have neighbouring countries with increasingly better offensive capabilities since they are getting donated developed tech from US, Israel, Russia etc etc, than us. Pakistan needs to carefully invest and acquire more types of Offensive Weapons, and must continuously do technological improvements in its current arsenal of defensive and offensive weapons.

 

Most biggest priority for Pakistan should be detecting & jamming, satellite jamming (Chinese are experts), advanced electronic jamming through its aircrafts, ships and land machines and network centricity to cover each area of Pakistan and reasonable distance beyond its immediate borders.

 

EMP is not a precise weapon yet...You are generating large amounts of powerful electromagnetic pulse at random frequencies and only if any electrical equipment has matching frequency will be affected.

 

Then there is Power to Effectiveness Ratio.....you need hundreds of Kilotons if not Megatons of explosive electromagnetic power to effect a city sized area as most power of the weapon will be lost then the capability of controlling frequency or frequency range of the weapons electromagnetic emission.

 

So, Its an induction of current via electromagnetic energy. Induction is how an EMP weapon intends to destroy or damage unshielded conductor and eventually electronic components.

A nuclear bomb, if set off very high in the atmosphere (above 50 km), generates a very strong EMP burst called HEMP (High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse).

 

These high altitude nuclear explosions also have very serious drawbacks:

1. You cannot control where the EMP burst will have effect and as such, your own communications will be disrupted (for example the Starfish Prime high altitude nuke test that was conducted by the US blacked out all communications for several hours in the eastern pacific and even destroyed three of their own satellites due to radiation).

2. If the nuke is powerful enough and detonated high enough (over 100 km but not in deep space), a majority of earth's communication will be disrupted for hours, i.e. blackout in Satellite comm and radio comm (no GPS, no military comm, no tv or radio, no aircraft or ship control/comm, etc). This is will shutdown the earth.

3. Back in the 50s and 60s, detonating HEMP devices had little repercussions since the electronics people used were very simple and as such, were much more robust compared to today (you know, things like vacuum tube computers, etc) and hence could withstand the effects of EMP to a certain extent. Now, due to sensitive solid-state electronics like integrated circuits in household components, an EMP burst will FRY the electronics of today...and you can understand the disaster that would occur. Taking the HEMP example (Starfish Prime):

 

The Starfish Prime electromagnetic pulse also made those effects known to the public by causing electrical damage in Hawaii, about 1,445 kilometres (898 mi) away from the detonation point, knocking out about 300 streetlights, setting off numerous burglar alarms and damaging a telephone company microwave link. The EMP-damaged microwave link shutdown telephone calls from Kauai to the other Hawaiian islands.

Currently our uneducated lot is developing bicycle, motor cycle and Suzuki car bombs to kill country's own security forces  using 'Sona Urea' .

 

Hopefully we spend some money on education otherwise neutron bomb too will be used by teenage suicide bombers against  Army and FC.

PESHAWAR: Chamkani police recovered a total of 15,000 kilograms of explosive material from a warehouse and two Suzuki pickups vans during an operation on Peshawar’s Ring Road.

Police claim to have arrested two suspects and at least one other managed to escape.

Speaking to media representatives, deputy superintendent (DSP) of Chamkani police, Shaukat Khan said that two Suzuki pickup vans which were used to transport potassium chloride for bomb-making had been recovered.

Moreover, he said with information from the two arrested men, police also managed to seize 600 sacks of explosive material from a warehouse. The owner of the warehouse managed to escape and a search operation was underway to apprehend him.

Khan added that the material was meant for sabotage activities and could mainly be used in IEDs and homemade hand grenades.
