I know it may be a bit of a stretch to ask this, but does the CENTCOM ever get involved in facilitating excess defence articles delivery to other countries in its AOR such as Pakistan? Given Pakistan's ongoing operations in the FATA, the MRAP vehicles would provide significant utility.
Welcome to the forum. Pakdef has a rule that all members should have a real sounding name like Saad, Adam, John, etc. etc. (it does not have to be your real name). This is to ensure proper decorum on the forum and not having to deal with handles as names.
Hope you understand. Please tell the admins what name you like and they will update and activate your account at that point.
I do not think that this forum puts down juniors (by the way what does that mean?). I think there is a certain maturity required to post here. After reading a few threads etc., one gets a decent idea what the level of discussion is. Now I am not suggesting its something out of the world here or for that matter anywhere else either, however most posters do a lot of homework (reading, researching, personal experience) before posting.
One nice thing about this forum is that most of the questions asked by the new members are available on this forum in one of the threads. You can dig these up and will find a lot of decent discussion around them. I think what we do not want to see is that a serious discussion going on and then someone pops up a question, "how many F-16s do we have"...
Maybe on this topic, we should have separate Q/A threads so people can pose those types of questions and then other members can respond as and when appropriate. Having said this, let me bring this welcome thread back to the topic of welcoming the new member...so Welcome!
My only advice to the future President of Pakistan is to remember what chacha Shakespeare wrote in Henry - "Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown"...
Its a thankless and onerous job with immense responsibility that led Syedna Umar RA to dissuade people from proposing another from the clan of Khattab for Khilafa after him (RA) by stating "one from the house of Khattab is enough".
Welcome sshah sahib. When did you join the Army? My father was also an Arty/SSG officer but retired in early 80s. I hope your stay is an enjoyable one here. Pervez sahib has a reputation of bringing in great members to the board (like himself). :)
Welcome. Know some die-hard Pakistan lovers who have lived in South Africa and Kenya. Although they moved on to London and the US, it was amazing to hear how much they knew about Pakistan even though they never grew up in Pakistan. People such as yourselves and your prayers are what keep Pakistan going my friend.
